Ultramodern combines graphic design sensibilities with the visionary optimism of science fiction and unbounded imagination of fantasy. Through identity designs, interactive pieces, and animation, I create a window into the aesthetics of the future, melding high-tech concepts with traditional, and sometimes vintage, promotional and advertising set pieces. I also explore the use of graphical imagery to convey tropes of the genre such as umbrella megacorporations, mysterious scientific outfits, and questionable public/private partnerships, as well as to carry brands as ‘characters’ within fictional contexts.
