While visual design and UI have formed the core of my professional experience, my design passions are wide-ranging, and I use personal projects to advance my skills and experiment in a number of different areas, including 3D, AfterEffects and animation, advanced Photoshop techniques, graphic design, and concept art.
In addition to hard skills, these projects allow me to explore concepts, aesthetics, and messaging that are all dear to me. Many of the projects that I have created include elements of retro design and illustration. Uncanny Tales of Science! & Discovery Defenders are about creating vintage, pulp-inspired worlds where the viewer learns all about the rich mythologies of our worlds’ cultures.
Many of them are about science-fiction, fantasy, storytelling, and futurism, as I am inspired by the worlds of concept art and film production. Ultramodern Productions is a project I conceptualized to create brand identities for futuristic companies.
And many of them have some sort of educational bent to them as well. Tangent is a project about making illustration and art that teaches people about science and nature. I have always been fascinated by science, history and mythology, and strive to make my viewers excited about those same topics too, and about learning and education in general!
